Red Carpet Jewels: The 2019 Emmy Awards

The 2019 Emmy Awards were filled with people I’ve never heard of. There are too many television shows nowadays! Plus, I’ve never seen one episode of “Game of Thrones,” and that alone left me pretty clueless when it came to a good half of the attendees. I was happy for Phoebe Waller-Bridge and all of the wins for “Fleabag,” though. That show’s great. But I skipped the ceremony itself.

I did, of course, pay a great deal of attention to the jewelry! I didn’t see as many big jewelry looks at the 2019 Emmy Awards as I saw at awards shows earlier in the year. However, there were still some nice pieces that caught my eye. In no particular order:

Zendaya in Cartier

Zendaya’s 18k white gold, diamond, emerald and onyx Panthère de Cartier earrings could not be more perfect with her Poison Ivy-inspired Vera Wang gown. I love those and her white gold and diamond Cartier Agrafe bracelet so much that I don’t even mind that she’s wearing dyed-to-match shoes.

This was a real Look with a capital L, so she could have gone minimalist with the jewelry. With that said, I’m glad she didn’t. This really works for me.

Busy Philipps in Irene Neuwirth

Busy looks like cotton candy in human form here, and I mean this as a high compliment. She’s wearing jewelry by her good friend Irene Neuwirth, as she often does on the red carpet. Her custom hair pins are from the new Tropical Flowers collection, while it looks like her earrings and ring are from the Cherry Blossom collection. I have such hard time getting red carpet ring photos, but at least you can get a good look at her jewelry from the neck up!

The dangle earrings are carved lavender jade and Akoya pearl, and the studs in her second holes are pink opal and Akoya pearl.

Margaret Qualley in Chanel Fine Jewelry

Margaret wore Chanel Fine Jewelry to compliment her Chanel couture gown and belt. She looks exquisite. It’s almost more of an Oscars red carpet look, but I’m not complaining.

All of the jewelry is perfect, but I particularly love the Comète earrings.

Julia wore a winner’s red carpet look. You know, when everyone thinks you’ll win so you dress the color of the statue? If she had won, she would be the most decorated performer by the Television Academy, ever.

But even though Phoebe Waller-Bridge beat her for “Fleabag,” she was a winner for me with her Irene Neuwirth diamond Super Bloom flower drop earrings in 18k yellow gold. I dig the gold-on-gold look.

Emilia Clarke in David Webb

Some people know her from “Game of Thrones;” I know her as the pretty British girl pretending to be Italian in that one Dolce & Gabbana commercial. (Seriously, though, should I watch “Game of Thrones?” I already know who wins!) Her David Webb earrings are so phenomenal. They feature cabochon cut opal drops, fluted cabochon cut sapphires, brilliant-cut diamonds, green enamel, platinum and 18k yellow gold. Yes, in case you were wondering, those suckers are heavy.

Emilia’s hair is perfectly styled to showcase these showstoppers, and man do they look great with her plunging navy Valentino gown. They’re also for sale as of this writing if you have a spare $72,000 and want to add them to your cart on the David Webb web site! (I did, just for fun.)

That’s all, folks! I hope you enjoyed my recap of the best jewelry seen on the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet. Until next time!
